A native of Willmar, Minnesota, Aaron Jacobson has been at Rush Creek Golf Academy for nine years, taking over as Director of Instruction in 2009. He started his teaching career with the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, then moving on to Desert Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has been fortunate to work with and be influenced by some excellent instructors along the way including Jim Flick, Ron Gring, Brad Brewer and John O'Leary III. Aaron has been a Class A member of the Professional Golfers Association of America since January 2000.
During his time at Rush Creek, Aaron has taught seven students who have gone on to Division I scholarships and coached many others who have played Division II and III college golf. Aaron continues to work with some of the best up and coming juniors in the state of Minnesota. He was named Honorable Mention Top 50 Kids Teacher for 2012, 2013 & 2015 by U.S. Kids Golf. He has also coached multiple local club champions, top local amateur players, and local PGA professionals.
As an accomplished player himself, Aaron won the 1990 Minnesota State AA High School Golf Championship. He was a five time winner on the Bold Stroke Tour in Western Texas and New Mexico during the mid 1990' and in 1999 he was the Mississippi Assistants Champion. From 2000-2001 he competed on the Hooters and Dakotas Tour and in various state open championships across the country. More recently, Aaron qualified for and competed in the 2010 National PGA Club Professional Championship. He continues to work on his game by competing in both local and national PGA events.
Aaron is also a certified club fitter.
Charlie is a native of Ft. Worth, Texas and has been a Class A Member of the PGA of America since 1998. Prior to joining the Rush Creek staff this season, Charlie has held professional positions at several well known golf facilities including The Minikahda Club and The Pines at Grandview Lodge.
While at The Minikahda Club, Charlie was awarded the 2003 Minnesota Section PGA Assistant Professional of the Year Award for his outstanding service and professionalism in growing the game of golf. Charlie continues that pursuit today; as he’s gone on to launch a successful brand of golf training aids and develop a full time teaching career.
Charlie’s success stories include PGA Q-School participants and local PGA Professionals; however he is most proud of his ability to improve the knowledge and skill level for recreational players of all abilities. His lesson plans focus on building solid foundations, identifying areas of improvement and designing plans to assure you achieve your individual goals for game improvement. Charlie knows your enjoyment of the game is directly related to how well you play. He teaches in a stress free manner that will guarantee your game improves. Charlie has a candid ability to see a golf swing, communicate ideas for improvement, and increase your ability to hit solid golf shots under any circumstances.
Charlie’s playing career includes respectable finishes in the Texas/Oklahoma Junior tournament as an accomplished junior player, a MN State High School tournament appearance while attending Shattuck School in Faribault, MN and a trip to PGA Tour Qualifying School. Charlie does participate in MN Section of the PGA events, but spends most his time on the course enjoying the game with his family.
